Mayflower Alpaca

Perfectly suited for knitting

Mayflower alpaca fibres are made using alpaca wools, which are well known to be much smoother and softer than regular sheep wool.

Similar to Merino Wool, Alpaca fleece does not have the "scratchy" feeling that normal wool has. They are quite similar to other wool, in that the fleece from Alpaca is also very warm, in fact much warmer than normal sheep wool. The fleece also has hollow air fibres that offer insulation even when wet.

Luxurious finish and feel

Naturally water and fire repellant, alpaca fibres are soft, spongy and have a natural crimp. This makes them highly elastic and well suited for knitting and crochet.
